Just a quick little “video search” on google and you can find pretty much whatever you want.  Well I wanted some more people to find out about sogoinvest.com the discount online brokerage where trading stocks are at maximum $3.00 a trade and yes that is real time trades as well.  This is an interview with the founder of sogoinvest enjoy.

While sogoinvest.com is a very cheap discount brokerage and everything about the site is fantastic the one thing I can’t stand is this…

You can’t electronically withdrawal funds unless you do the following.
- The first step is that you have to add a banking account by printing a PDF file and fill it out with a voided check and send it in.
- Then once your account is verified you have to initiate a withdrawl by once again printing out a pdf file and sending it in.

Electronic Transfer (ACH)
Automated Clearing House (ACH) is a nationwide system that processes a large volume of electronic transactions. ACH is a convenient way to transfer funds to and from you SogoInvest account. The transfer only takes 2 or 3 days to process and is completely free.Initiate an ACH deposit - Add a bank account to make deposits to your SogoInvest account.

Initiate a ACH withdrawal (PDF) . - Add a bank account (PDF) to make withdrawals from the SogoInvest account. (Currently ACH withdrawals require a completed withdrawal form. Online ACH requests are coming soon)


This is very annoying if you make a lot of transfers to external accounts. This is the only beef so far I have with Sogoinvest.

SogoInvest a new discount brokerage July 13, 2006

sogoinvestI found this out from MyMoneyBlog, its a new discount brokerage that is comparable to Sharebuilder.  The name is SogoInvest.  There is no minimum to open an account, automatic investments are $3.00 as opposed to Sharebuilder $4.00, real time orders are $3.00 as opposed to Sharebuilders $11.95-$15.95.  That is a substantial difference and will really cut down on brokerage fees.  Also you have automatic daily investments, Sharebuilder you have to have them on Tuesdays every week.  Also like Sharebuilder you can purchase fractional shares, and there is no inactivity fees.

After finding out about this it looks like I will be opening up an account with SogoInvest.

Wikipedia.org has a wealth of free information on it. Just type in a subject that you want to learn about and bam the information is there (damn I love the internet). This really makes me think back to elementary school when the class would go to the library and dig up the good ol encyclopedia to research everything. If I was in elementary school now, I would go to this site copy and paste everything I needed and then print it out and give it to the teacher and say “how do you like me now, is it nap time yet?”

So anyways I typed in personal finance in the search box and it came up with some incredible information.

There is a lot to read on wiki for this topic and it looks like I will be learning alot just from this and hopefully some readers will too.
