August MyActualGrowth Networth update September 3, 2006

Posted by Administrator in : MyActualGrowth , 1 comment so far

Alright well this month like a posted earlier I bought some things I needed on a credit card that has no interest for 6 months. I bought a new laptop which I needed and an Xbox 360. The laptop was 1549 and the 360+games and controllers etc was about 650. Now that’s over $2200 and my balance is now down to $1,325.27. So that tells you just how much I have payed on that bad boy. I plan to have it payed off in October, I could pay it off right away but again there is no interest until December so I am putting money in my Savings account that earns interest and still funding my Sharebuilder brokerage. So obviously this month I was looking at my net worth decreasing but it only decrease by $14.19 or dropped down by .63%. That’s not bad considering I accumulated an extra $2,200 in credit card debt.

Now I still increased my Networth in key categories such as my checking, savings, 401k, and my Sharebuilder Brokerage.

Another month of saving money and kicking credit card debt in the ass. This is another positive month for me. I just can’t believe what a difference a few months can make by just focusing on your spending and concentrate on saving your hard earned cash. My financial life has undergone a complete 360 and I am proud of myself for taking the time one day to get my act together. Gone are the days of minimum payments, late payments, and the everyday stress of worrying about your financial life.

My credit card debt is going down! June 18, 2006

I am happy to write about some more positive things going on for me personally. My credit card debt no longer sees minimum monthly payments, Ohhh no not anymore! I have been in the habit of paying every two weeks. Usually one big payment like $100.00 on such and such account followed by say $20.00-$35.00 the other week. I have seen my debt go from as much as $1,300.00 combined all the way down to around $700.00. For me that is astronomical. pics of credit cardsThat is a $600.00 swing in the other direction in a little over a month and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. I hope to have one card payed off for by the first or second week of July and hopefully the other one payed off towards the end of July or more towards the first week of August. After that I plan on using just one card to pay for gas expenses and thats it, at least thats a way I can keep a better tab just how much I am spending on gas just because I am curious. But all amounts will be payed off each month to avoid interest. Like I have posted earlier about the gas card rewards, I plan on getting one at some point so this will kind of teach me to get in the habit.

Also paying off this credit card debt is a step in completing some short term goals I have set out as well.

As for that last link some of those I would not recommend unless its a last resort.
